WHAT IS A POLICY?
A policy is a written statement detailing how Wakefield Day Nursery approaches various aspects of childcare. It outlines the standards we strive for and the principles or practices we adhere to. These policies also reference legal requirements where applicable.
For example:
We treat all children and adults with equal respect and aim to create a welcoming atmosphere in our setting. Our focus is on providing quality childcare that meets the needs of both parents and children. Establishing reasonable and appropriate boundaries is essential to manage children's behaviour effectively. By fostering a happy and safe environment, we encourage the development of social skills in children, helping them feel accepted as they grow. We believe in positive discipline as a more constructive approach to setting boundaries.
Our policies give each child the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential and to help young children achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, achieving economic well-being.
Our range of policies covers health & safety, behaviour, food & drink, equal opportunities, medication, and accidents, among others.
